LE GUESS WHO? MAY DAY 2014

SATURDAY MAY 24, 2014 IN UTRECHT, THE NETHERLANDS

Le Guess Who? May Day is set for May 24th, 2014 in Utrecht (30 minutes from Amsterdam). Le Guess Who? is one of the leading Dutch festivals for independent music, where artists perform throughout the city centre in many different indoor locations. The festival takes place in November. Since 2011, Le Guess Who? hosts a spin-off festival day in May, called Le Guess Who? May Day.

Le Guess Who? Festival 2014 will take place Thursday November 20th - Sunday November 23rd.

“Originally a festival highlighting Canadian-bred artists, it has since doubled in length and exponentially increased its program lineup to become one of the premiere destinations in Europe to favor independent music and culture.” - Consequence of Sound, USA

"I had the pleasure to experience Le Guess Who? and was just overwhelmed by the loveliness of the event and especially the good nose for young and upcoming, but yet advanced and promising acts." - Guerolito Music, CH

“Playing Le Guess Who? fest was beautiful... in the exquisite city of Utrecht...a wick programme...” - Dan Haywood's New Hawks, UK

UTRECHT, THE NETHERLANDS

Le Guess Who? is located in the unique premises of Utrecht city centre. Utrecht is the fourth largest city of the Netherlands, only 30 minutes away from Amsterdam.

Travel guide Lonely Planet rated Utrecht as #6 of the world’s unsung places: “this graceful city is bizarrely under-visited. Its old town is encircled by a medieval canal. Built to connect the canal side with Utrecht’s impressive townhouses, today these unique spaces are filled with bohemian cafes, shops, restaurants and bars.”

CNN recently mentioned “charming university town” Utrecht as a good alternative for jaded European hotspots: “Utrecht beats the old Amsterdam hands-down”.

LE GUESS WHO? LOCATIONS

Roughly all Le Guess Who? locations are within walking distance of each other in the city centre of Utrecht. However, the best (and Dutch!) way to get around in Utrecht is by bike. We highly recommend renting a bike, for example at Laag Catharijne (www.laagcatharijne.nl), which is located next to Utrecht Central Station (Catharijnesingel 28).

ACCOMMODATION

Tickets for Le Guess Who? do not include accommodation. Utrecht only offers a few options for cheap accommodation. A selection from budget to mid range to high end accommodation can be found here.

As attending a music festival can already be pretty pricey, we started to look for an alternative. We'll be setting up a Couchsurfing page again soon, baked right into our festival website. Allowing Le Guess Who? visitors to either offer up places to stay, or find somewhere to sleep.
