Early Day Miners is het project rond Daniel Burton, producer, engineer en songschrijver die het vak leerde van Daniel Lanois en meewerkte op platen van Papa M en Okkervil River. Net als deze bands maakt Burtons eigen Early Day Miners het soort muziek dat geen moment de aandacht opeist of zich verlaagt tot poses of bombast, maar rustig zoekend zijn eigen weg gaat. Stil in een hoekje groeit de muziek langzaam tot oogverblindende pracht, voor wie het zien wil. Zoekend als Low, Swell, Tortoise, Sigur Rós en het vroege Songs: Ohia, met een vleugje TV On The Radio. Introvert van natuur en bewust obscuur, vraagt Early Day Miners de luisteraar om zelf op zoek te gaan – om daar uiteindelijk ruimschoots voor te belonen.

Introvert by nature and obscure by choice, Early Day Miners asks for the listener to go exploring himself - to amply reward him for it in the end.
