It is no wonder that this Spencer Clark project is inspired by eighties cult horror movies, such as ‘Hellraiser II’ and ‘Pin’. Every album released under Typhonian Highlife sounds almost too cinematic for it to exist on its own; we feel compelled to search endlessly for the lost tape it chaperones. 2016’s ‘The World Of Shells’ masterfully juxtaposes natural and artificial sounds, creating an uncanny landscape that begs us to fill in the blank with our own imaginary motion pictures.
