Yaya Bey

Yaya Bey

In ‘Remember Your North Star’, Brooklyn singer-songwriter and multidisciplinary artist Yaya Bey shines, revealing herself as one of R&B’s most exciting recent storytellers. Binding together genres and generations, she reinvents soul, jazz, and reggae to tell new stories of black womanhood, touching upon misogynoir, generational trauma, and more. Following up on 2020’s ‘Madison Tapes’, Bey realizes her aim of becoming a soundboard for black women everywhere, as she sings through themes of connection, pain, and desire on a record Pitchfork found ‘prismatic’ and ‘outstanding’.
