Cate Le Bon and Deerhunter's Bradford Cox are certainly no strangers to each other. Earlier this year, Le Bon produced Deerhunter's new album 'Why hasn't Everything Already Disappeared?', and now, the duo release a collaborative EP 'Myths 004' via Mexican Summer. Previous pairings in the series have included Ariel Pink with Weyes Blood, Dungen with Woods, and Connan Mockasin with Dev Hynes.

Cox described their process as a 'free art approach'; they used whatever was at their disposal, which, until the rest of Deerhunter showed up with their regular gear, was limited to an altered piano and miscellaneous items. Listen to 'Myths' 004 below.

"What we have here is an example of how collaborations can and should work: it’s at times unexpected, but never unfamiliar, their respective styles blending together seamlessly, despite the few disparities that separate them." - Loud And Quiet

Deerhunter performs at Le Guess Who? 2019 on Friday, 8 November; Cate Le Bon performs on Sunday, 10 November. Also performing at the festival are a.o. Aldous Harding, The Raincoats, Gruff Rhys, Jenny Hval, Moon Duo, Girl Band, Tropical Fuck Storm, Efterklang, Holly Herndon, Föllakzoid, Not Waving & Dark Mark (Mark Lanegan), and many more.
