Moon Duo announce new album; share title track 'Stars Are The Light' Thu Jun 27th Moon Duo Psychedelic/krautrock mystics and LGW19 curators Moon Duo have risen up as one of the most intoxicating live acts of this decade. Now, the group announce their new album 'Stars Are The Light', to be released by Sacred Bones on 27 September and produced by Sonic Boom. The Oregon band’s trademark sound is as much acquainted with minimalist pop as the louder, more cosmic torrents. Because of their all-embracing nature – 80’s disco, occult literature, electronic music and film soundtracks – a Moon Duo record never orbits the same area twice; 'Stars Are The Light' being influenced by '70s funk, '80s disco, and '90s rave. Stream the title track below: "It’s something we hadn’t referenced in our music before, but its core concepts really align with what we were circling around as we made the album. Disco is dance music, first and foremost, and we were digging our way into the idea of this endless dance of bodies in nature. We were also very inspired by the space and community of a disco – a space of free self-expression through dance, fashion, and mode of being; where everyone was welcome, diversity was celebrated, and identity could be fluid; where the life force that animates each of us differently could flower." - Sanae Yamada at The Line of Best Fit Moon Duo are one the curators of Le Guess Who? 2019, performing at the festival themselves on Saturday, 9 November. As part of their curation, they have invited a.o.
