Mudhoney announce new album 'Digital Garbage', share first single 'Paranoid Core' Tue Jul 10th Mudhoney Seattle icons Mudhoney have announced their new album, to be released on 28 September via their home base Sub Pop. 'Digital Garbage' will be the band's tenth record, with even more reason to celebrate: 2018 also marks the 30th Anniversary of Mudhoney, an occasion that will also bring them to Le Guess Who? this year. Mudhoney is widely regarded as trailblazer of the grunge movement and is still making great records without compromise. 'Digital Garbage' covers themes like "modern-life anxiety and the ever-increasing threat of warfare", as well as recents news events such as a 2017 church shooting and last summer's clashes in Charlottesville. Listen to first single 'Paranoid Core' below. "Arm's raw yawp and his bandmates' longhoned chemistry make Digital Garbage an ideal release valve for the 2018 pressure cooker, its insistent rhythms forcing movement and Arm's sardonic lyrics offering a funhouse-mirror companion to the ever-more-ridiculous news cycle. "My sense of humor is dark, and these are dark times," says Arm. "I suppose it’s only getting darker." Mudhoney's performance at Le Guess Who? 2018 will be part of their record release tour. Also performing at the festival are a.o. The Breeders, Lydia Lunch, Ancient Shapes, Crack Cloud, Psychic Ills, Kikagaku Moyo, Please The Trees, FACS and many more.
