Ichiko Aoba

Ichiko Aoba

Friday 18:20 - 19:10

No one does softness - so gentle it brushes moving – like Ichiko Aoba. The Japanese singer has been a staple of the country’s acoustic folk scene since her debut ‘Kamisori Otome’ released over a decade ago. Although Aoba is known to play the piano, the accordion and the clarinet, her most faithful companion is the guitar, whose strings she softly plucks to conjure up songs inspired by “dreams and rice balls”.
